March 28, 2026 (Tehachapi, CA) My name is Matthew Sgherzi. Former Elder at Shepherd of the HIlls Church, and Jeff Kaplan’s son-in-law. I will no longer stand by idly while Jeff Kaplan and the Elders at Shepherd of the Hills Church continue to attack my character, triangulate, lie, bear false witness, slander, gossip, and commit ongoing ethical and Biblical atrocities. All in an effort to try and scare me into silence.
The ongoing unrepentant sin, hiding of sexual assault captured on video by a leader (who still remains in his position), and continuous use of Jeff Kaplan’s platform at Shepherd of the Hills and social media to run an ongoing campaign of lies and attacks against my family ends now.
The congregation at Shepherd of the Hills deserves to know. The public deserves to know the truth.
“Can unjust leaders claim that God is on their side – leaders whose decrees permit injustice?
They gang up against the righteous and condemn the innocent to death.” (Psalm 94:20-21)
The ongoing lies, slander, threats, retaliation against my family, and unrepentant sins are now being rebuked. (1 Tim. 5:19-20)
The darkness is being exposed by the light. (Eph. 5:11-13)
And God’s justice for the victims, including the woman failed after she was SEXUALLY ASSAULTED at Shepherd of the Hills, on video, is now being rendered.
The truth of God’s justice is resurrected this Easter in 2026.
“The Lord is slow to anger, but His power is great; He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished.”
