March 28, 2026 (Tehachapi, CA) Throughout 2024, 2025, and 2026, evidence in my possession has brought to light troubling actions involving Jeff Kaplan, whose behavior has been anything less than Biblical. Evidence shows Jeff Kaplan’s involvement in Internet chat rooms on Telegram, text, and others, aimed at supporting a fraudulent federal lawsuit against myself, Matthew Sgherzi. This lawsuit, filed in January of 2025, was assisted by Jeff Kaplan, and his Wife, according to the Plaintiffs, in June 2025. On March 23rd, 2026, this lawsuit was tossed out of Court by Federal Judge Waverly Crenshaw on the basis that the Plaintiffs, to which Jeff Kaplan aided and abetted, failed make any actual allegations aside from vague statements (see image of Court Order below).
Additionally, text messages reveal an ongoing campaign to further damage me (Kaplan’s son-in-law), his daughter, and our family’s reputation, raising very serious ethical questions. Further proof highlights attempts to deflect blame regarding questionable cryptocurrency gambling activities linked to “XETA”. Jeff Kaplan has, for the past 16+ months, been using his position as a Pastor at Shepherd of the Hills Church to spread slander amongst his congregation, Elder board, and leadership by falsely blaming me (Matthew Sgherzi) for Kaplan’s cryptocurrency gambling losses.
A confidential source has expressed strong disapproval of Jeff Kaplan and the Shepherd of the Hills Elder board’s conduct, describing it as “disgusting.”
This information, which has been prayed over fervently, has been ongoing for well over a year+. This unethical, immoral, and unBibilcial behavior should highlight the importance of integrity and truthfulness, especially among alleged leaders, as emphasized in Scripture: “Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices” (Colossians 3:9). Upholding honesty and righteousness is crucial in all actions, especially within communities, Churches, and those to claim to be shepherds of God’s flock.
